Honour MCpl Byron Greff
On Tuesday, Rod and I were in Toronto at the Coroner’s Office to honour MCpl Byron Greff. We left at 8:30pm and to start our journey to Alberta. We drove through the night but had a short stop to sleep outside of Chicago. We arrived in Fargo, North Dakota at 5:00pm to stay for the night. As we traveled, we have had many comments and questions regarding the Canadian Heroes Car. The Border guard in Port Huron was very impressed with the car and our trip’s purpose. At gas stop, we had hugs and pictures. Today we drove to Edmonton. We will be staying with our son, Jamie, who is stationed in Edmonton. We will be attending a candlelight vigil in Lacombe AB for MCpl Greff on Friday.

Master Cpl. Byron Greff Repatriated
The flagged draped coffin of Master Corporal Byron Greff made its way back home yesterday and made it’s trip down the Highway of Heroes as Canada welcomed home its latest soldier home from Afghanistan.
The 158th Canadian soldier to return from Afghanistan, Greff was travelling between bases aboard an armoured NATO bus when a suicide bomber detonated a car packed with 700 kilograms of explosives.
Master Corporal Greff is survived by his wife and two young children, all of whom were on hand for the repatriation at CFB Trenton Tuesday afternoon.
Canadian Heroes would like to send their deepest sympathies and condolences to Master Corporal Greff family and comrades. A true hero is back home and we thank him for his sacrifice.
