Canadian Heroes Racing To Partner With Ian Michael Patterson

Canadian Heroes is proud to announce the launch of a second race team during our inaugural race Victoria Day weekend in the Canadian Tire Series at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park. Ian Michael Patterson, a veteran racer, will be wrapping his new Corvette in the Canadian Heroes colours to run the SCCA Pro Racing Trans Am race. Patterson’s Corvette will be debuted alongside our number 45 NASCAR car driven by Steve Moore on May 20th.

Patterson began attending high performance driving schools in the spring of 2001, and became an instructor in 2006. He began racing in 2009 with CASC-OR in the GT events with a 2001 Corvette Z06, placing third in GT Sprints- GT1 Class, and 2nd in GT Challenge- GT1 in 2010. He then decided to build a race car from scratch- a 2011 Trans Am C6 Corvette, built by Gateway Racing Inc. With this new car, Patterson won the 2011 CASC-OR GT Sprints- GT1 Class championship, and placed fifth in qualifying for the SCCA Pro Racing Trans Am race at Mosport on the Victoria Day weekend in May.

Canadian Heroes is excited to launch the Country’s first race team dedicated to its troops, and we invite you to take part in this historical event.

Very Special And Emotional Project

On the weekend when we dropped off our race car in Mississauga, we picked up at the same time another very special car, this time Trooper Marc Diab’s Jeep.
We brought it back to our race shop were it will undergo a lengthy restoration project to return it to top notch shape.

Before Marc died he made a video as to what he would like to have done to his Jeep in case he did not return from Afghanistan… I personally have not seen the video yet, but will let you know what he had asked to have done before his passing…yes, this will be a very special and emotional project…and an honour for all those that will be involved with making it happen.

Details to follow stay tuned, I will keep you up to date and will most likely make a special website in addition for it as well.

Out west a similar project is underway for fallen soldier Mike Seggie, and is almost completed. A restoration project of his 1968 Barracuda has been going on for some time and it looks fantastic!
