2nd Annual Canadian Heroes Golf Tournament

We are appealing to you, in hope that you can help us in a truly worthwhile cause. Canadian Heroes along with Astral Media is busy planning their 2nd Annual Golf Tournament to help raise funds that will go towards building a memorial park in Orangeville for fallen soldier Cpl. Matthew McCully. Cpl. Matthew McCully was on his second tour of duty in afghanistan when he was killed by an improvised explosive device (IED) during Operation Hoover Friday, becoming Canada's 55th soldier to die in combat since 2002. This years tournament is being held Monday June, 18th 2012 at Knollwood Golf Club (old course). It promises to be a terrific time for all, while raising money for a great cause. With your contribution we can guarantee success. We are asking that you and/or your business be a sponsor for our tournament with hole sponsorships at just $200. Your sponsorship will not only go towards a great cause, but will give your business exposure to the approximate 200 people in attendance, as well as website, social media, and mass media exposure. We also have tickets available if you are unable to sponsor a hole. Tickets are $150.00 per golfer or $500 per foursome. Also available are dinner tickets to close out the day at only $50.00. With so many options to choose from, there is something for everyone. Can't attend? How about donating a prize that will be used for our silent auction to be held during the evening. Your donation would help Canadian Heroes and Astral Media reach it's goal to build a memorial for one of our Fallen Soldiers. Please feel free to contact me at 905 529 2770 or by email info@canadianheroes.com with any further questions. Thank you, Chris Ecklund Canadian Heroes Registration Form.pdf

Great Start To The Season‏

May 20, 2012 Canadian Heroes arrived at Varney Speedway for their first race in the Lucas Oil Sportsman Cup Series. The newly installed Chevy Challenger SRT body & 604 crate motor were about to have it's first race of the season. McColl Racing worked under a tight deadline to have the car ready for it's inaugural race. Steve Moore was more than thrilled to be back behind the wheel racing. Steve is a veteran in the Afghanistan war and was more than ecstatic to have the opportunity to be driving for the Canadian Hero initiative. Our time trial was 14.6 seconds around the quarter mile oval nicknamed the "fishbowl", with that time we managed to start in 9th position. Mike from McColl Racing Enterprises took the time to come for race day and set up the car, and make sure we were good for the race. Under the 32 degrees weather, sun beating down, the race was underway. Steve expressing that he was nervous but excited and wanted to show Canada what we were about. A few laps in, his confidence grew and managed to get up to 5th place. We finished the full 100 laps and managed to pull a 7th place finish! We couldn't have asked for anything better. A great thank you go out to our team for that day - Fred, Marie, Steve, Andy, Peter John and Adam. The crowd reaction was phenomenal and fans young and old gathered to receive Canadian flags signed by our driver and thank us for everything Canadian Heroes has been doing. In other news Ian Patterson's newly wrapped #74 Corvette took a second place finish in Mosport in the Trans Am SCCA Series. One top five placing, and one top ten finish - what a great start to the season! Follow us on Facebook & Twitter to keep up to date, and we hope to see you at our next race!
