Memorial Dedication For Sergeant Martin Goudreault

TEMISKAMING SHORES – Friends, family members, local dignitaries and supporters gathered Saturday afternoon to honour the sacrifice of Sergeant Martin Goudreault.

The lookout park on Highway 11, across from the Ministry of Transportation office and facing north toward the Little Claybelt, was dedicated on October 15 in memory of Sgt. Goudreault, who was killed in Afghanistan in 2010.

“It is a priviledge to be here today for this dedication to honour our son”, said Sgt. Goudreault’s father, Aurel to a crowd of about 70 including his wife Micheline.

Sgt. Goudreault was just 35 when he was killed in action in the Panjwayi District of Afghanistan on June 6, 2010. It was his third tour of duty in Afghanistan. He was a 15-year veteran of 1 Combat Engineer Regiment, First Battalion, Royal Canadian Regiment Battle Group.

What a great way to honour one of our fallen. “His name will never be forgotten”

Peterborough Speedway With Gary Elliott

The final race of the season should have been the Autumn Colours Classic in Peterborough, Ontario. However Flamboro's Ocktoberfest features rained out on October 2nd and that show will run this coming Saturday with the rain date Sunday.

Our team worked hard this weekend bringing us a 9th place finish in a very tough handling car. We worked on it continually, not ever giving up. We had a 5th place car, but after our troubles started we could easily have finished 20th. However we pressed on getting a 9th place finish and on the lead lap.

Thank you for your support.
